China has a lot of smog. To make their city appear more colourful, China's officials use a chemical solution called "Top Green Turf Greening Agent". The officials hire workers to spray the grassy verges of the city's roads with the chemical solution, which is green. The seller of the chemical solution claims that it is not poisonous. It lasts for ten to fourteen weeks and it is not washed away by rain. Fake sheep were even installed recently to convince tourists that they are still grazeable. Some people are against this, saying the officials should use the money to build schools instead.
Opinion
I feel that using the dye to cheer up the city's appearance is a waste of money and time. I personally do not think that the Chinese will care about the city's appearance and will not be pleased by the official's efforts. Instead, the officials should have used the money for something the Chinese will appreciate, like building hospitals and schools.
