Scotland's elderly care at home costs double in eight years

summary: There are more elderly people that are receiving support to help them stay in their own home for longer. A greater proportion of older people were now being cared for at home rather than in hospitals or care homes. The amount of money spent by local authorities on free personal care and free nursing care payments to self-funding residents in care homes has increased each year from £86m in 2003-04 to £111m in 2011-12,thus the elderly care at home will cost double in eight years

Opinion:I actuallly think that staying at home and receiving support is better than staying in homes or hospitals .When you are at home we will tend to feel more comfortable, however when in homes, there might be things that do not make you feel comfortable. So i do not understand why must they increase the cost of elderly care at home
