Values in Action (VIA) are learning experiences that support students’ development as socially responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to the community, through the learning and application of values, knowledge and skills. VIA fosters student ownership over how they contribute to the community. VIA aims to help students internalise values learnt through real life experiential activities.VIA activities include : Mentoring and peer group support projects. Rendering service within the school and to external organisation. Raising funds for needy causes through various projects.Visits to welfare and aged homes. Contributing to the care, cleanliness and sustainability of the environment around us.
Opinion: In my opinion, i think VIA is very good as it nurture students to become socially responsible and develop their sense of belonging and commitment to our country. It also promotes active citizenry by involving students in meaningful community service to school and community, VIA provides an opportunity for moral action and recognition for moral action.
