The test scores in Singapore shows that the weaker students have improved their scores. The way they approach questions indicates that they are moving away from rote learning and are applying high order thinking skills. MOE trimmed the syllabuses and allow teachers to have more time developing critical thinking skills in their students. A total of 12, 500 students sat the test held last year, and they achieved a higher score.
I think that the education system in Singapore is improving as many weak students are improving and they no longer memorise things in a hard way. They started to memorise them in a simpler and faster way.
