Malaria kills many people worldwide and a new drug has been discovered to stop the parasite, especially the resistant strains. The drug makes the immune system destroy the malaria-infected red blood cells in the way it destroys worn out cells. It stops the parasite from maintaining balanced sodium.
Opinion:
In my opinion, I feel that doctors must rapidly test this drug for any side effects before approving its use. I believe that if it is successful, it can help to save millions of lives. Nevertheless, the parasite may still develop resistance to the drug.

The H5N8 outbreak in the Netherlands caused the people there to seal off the affected areas. Poultry exports are banned. Farmers with the infected birds are forced to kill them to limit the spread of the virus. Other farmers are hoping that it is an isolated outbreak so that the virus will not spread to their farms.
Opinion:
In my opinion, I agree that people should shut down the affected farms and ban poultry exports until the outbreak is concluded even though there is no human case. It is because that the virus has a potential to spread to humans, causing severe illness and death. Since the flu season is approaching, we must gear up.

Summary:
The Netherlands exports a lot of agricultural products and the farm animals there are densely packed, causing the animals vulnerable to diseases.The number of farm animals is also increasing steadily. Recently, a strain of contagious bird flu virus had been detected, causing the Netherlands to slaughter countless of farm animals to contain the virus. As a result, the Netherlands have to lock down all poultry transport, losing untold amounts of money.
Opinion:
In my opinion, I believe that bigger farm houses can be built to decease the density so as to reduce the risk of diseases. Farmers must also keep an eye on the farm animals especially during the flu season so that they will not get the bird or swine flu. The farms must also be regularly cleaned to further decrease the risk of diseases among animals.

Along with the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, an out break of the plague occurred in Madagascar. Madagascar experienced the outbreak due to many reasons such as overcrowded living and poor sanitation. The plague in this outbreak took 2 forms, bubonic and pneumonic, and bubonic is the more common form. In the past, plague was responsible for the Black Death in the 14th century, which annihilated a third of Europe's population. Now, it is extremely rare but still occurred in rat infested areas.
Opinion:
In my opinion, I believe that the plague can be completely wiped out if the rat population can be controlled as it is primarily spread by rat fleas. Better sanitation can also come into good use. I feel that plague is eradicated in urban areas as the healthcare and hygiene standards are good. Plague is a highly fatal disease, so a lot of precautions must be needed.
